Regardless of my love for wind instruments I always deeply disliked the saxophone. Sixth June has just released a wonderful album, coalescing saxophone parts with beautiful electronics and heavenly voices. And I love it.
A cheesy saxophone solo in a Bridge of a song? I can hardly think of any more horrifying. However, one of my alltime favourite tunes contains exactly that.
No one uses the saxophone like Colin Stetson does. His work has been a true eye opener for me. Beside Bohren & Der Club Of Gore one of the very few artists I adore for making me become friends with this quite special instrument.
