BLUE HOUR

I uploaded this to YouTube as there wasn’t any audio online and shared it recently on Facebook. This track makes me feel lost in the subtle call and response melodies, the gentle shifting in layers, rising and falling. It’s always something I try to reach for as soon as I can when djing out. It helps me to immerse myself in my sets and is normally the point where things start to build nicely and I’m in a good flow.

Does the kick have to come in? When it does its pulls you out of that dreamy sound collage it left you in, this arrangement is perfection. I love how the track grows to this point with the melodies interwoven together and its playful gestures, presenting some kind of paradisal lucid image. The improvised feel to the keys and strings holds you in a very deep and personal experience.

This is a recent track that has been growing on me more and more. It has a quite a modern sounding style but its simplicity is very well considered and is a great example of contemporary techno done well. It creates an atmosphere which is immediately captivating. It doesn’t need to shout for attention to deliver its message. It feels effortless
